Netflix has released the list of Nigerian films coming out to its platform next month and we are glad. Hopefully these films will be on the Netflix worldwide platform and not just shown within Africa as we have discovered can be the case at times.

Nollywood powerhouse actress Toyin Abraham is at her comedic best in this film which was a hit in Nigeria when it came out last year. It showcases a plethora of stars such as Toyin Abraham, Alex Ekubo, Odunlade Adekola, Bro Shaggy, Timini Egbuson, with cameo appearances by Davido. Mercy Eke, Cobhams Asuquo, Peruzzi, Orezi, Taymesan, Toyin Lawani, Stephanie Coker, Swanky Jerry, Anto, Mabel Makun, Lola Oj, OAP Dotun, Khafi, Khloe, Aphrodija, MC Lively and many others. The movie was produced by Toyin Abraham and directed by Kayode Kassim. It comes out on the March 5th.

Next up is the Stand up comedy special ‘Nigerian American’ by Seyi Brown.
Massive congrats to US based Nigerian comedian Seyi Brown for getting his show on Netflix! This is no easy feat and to my knowledge I think he is the first Nigerian comedian to do this but I stand to be corrected. His comedy special is et to show on March 10 so watch out for it. Below is a clip of him when he did some sets at the Golden Icons Awards in 2014.
Next up is the film CATCH.ER a gritty thriller produced and directed by Walter ‘Waltbanger’ Taylaur. Though the film came out in cinemas in Nigeria in 2017, it will for the first time be made available to viewers outside the country.
It stars OC Ukeje, Blossom Chukwujeku, Beverly Naya, Alexx Ekubo. Gbenro Ajbade, Kiki Omeili, Omowunmi Dada, WofaiFada and Tope Tedela.
When an ambitious career woman is found murdered on her wedding anniversary her husband becomes the prime suspect. However a police investigation unearths others in her life who may also have a strong motive. It comes out on March 17 so watch out for it. Check out the trailer below.
Other movies to watch out for are ‘Who Is The Boss? by the popular Inkblot Productions.
Starring Blossom Chukwujekwu, Funke Akindele, Ini Dima Okojie, Segun Arinze, Sharon Ooja the movie is about Liah, a young overworked Ad agency executive forced to live a lie when her side-hustle wins a major contract. It was produced and directed by Naz Onuzo of the popular Ink Blot Productions and I’m sure it going to be good. See the trailer below. March 19 is the date of release.
Finally we have ‘Three Thieves’ –
It’s a movie about three frustrated young men who decided to take part in what at first seemed like a low-risk, high-profit heist, but as the plot progresses reveals itself to be very far from that. It is set to be released on March 24.
It stars Shawn Faqua, Frank Donga, Odunlade Adekola, Wofai Fada, Koye Kekere- Ekun, Funny Bone, Charles Okocha, Shaffy Bello, and Omotunde (Lolo 1) Adebowale.
