Amiable Nollywood producer/writer Uduak Isong gets set to release her latest offering ‘Beautiful People’ to the world this March; 27th to be precise. The drama looks at the challenges in relationships across different age groups; it cuts across three different generations of women – a teenager on a journey of self discovery, a middle aged woman afraid to commit again after a broken relationship and a woman in her fifties seeking a fresh start.

Beautiful People will premiere on Sunday, the 27th of March at Courthouse Cinema, Shoreditch, London. Immediately after the movie screening, guests will be hosted to a cocktail where there will be a Q and A session by the director and discussions about the Nigerian film industry.

The film features seasoned Nigerian film stars such as Kanayo O Kanayo, Clarion Chukwurah, Chioma Chukwukah, Deyemi Okanlanwon, Yvonne Jegede and others. The director Uduak Isong Oguamanam, who recently graduated from the University of Kent with a Masters in Film, says “I made this film primarily to entertain but also to provoke thought and initiate conversations about gender roles particularly in family settings.”

Uduak is one of Nigeria’s most acclaimed filmmakers popularly known for her award winning film Falling and Okon Lagos, a satire about the Nigerian state. Beautiful People is her feature directorial debut.
